Once again, our yoga practice takes us off the mat and into our busy lives. The weather here in Florida had us all worried. The hurricane in the Atlantic continued to swirl, hovering close to Jacksonville. While the moms (including the step-moms) and bridesmaids spent the day getting their hair done and their makeup done, outside the rain continued to fall and the skies grew more and more ominous looking. I am not much of a gambler but I would have bet you that the beach wedding could not possibly happen. The service crew would place a few chairs out where the wedding was supposed to happen. Minutes later, they'd start to remove the chairs. The wind was howling. It was messy and worrisome. Not maybe 10 minutes before the 4:30 p.m. service was to begin, the skies opened and the sun smiled upon all the guests.
It truly was a great test in faith. Pastor Dan led a beautiful, soulful ceremony. He allowed no phones, so we'll have to wait for the professional pictures to come out. I can assure you. It was heartfelt, and Simone and Sam were radiant! Webster defines radiant as "marked by or expressive of love, confidence, or happiness". That sums up perfectly what we all felt.
Now the hard part begins. The day Sam & Simone returned to Frisco Sunday, they were greeted by 1. Brisky, the rambunctious black Labrador, 2. Simone's job and a very likely promotion, 3. Sam's golfing career in the peak of the season. Hence, the next quote is appropriate for them and for all of us.
Thank you for your patience as Bill and I continue to skip around the country. Many of you are also traveling. I'm hearing of great adventures from Alaska to England to Spain. And yet, coming home is also wonderful. Eating fresh fruit and vegetables is a blessing.
Here's the coming week's yoga class and private session schedule. I do hope you'll make the effort (and we know it IS an effort) to join us. Have you invited a friend yet? That's the only way we can continue to have classes. MindBody charges a hefty fee to schedule, book, and accept payment for classes and privates. We need YOU to help our little yoga group continue.
